September 18-20 weekend was our girls bi-annual scrapbook weekend at Walnut Knob Lodge in Pittsfield, IL. People ask us why we keep going back there each time, and truthfully, we tell them it's our "home away from home!" It's actually a hunting lodge that they rent out to other groups, but it has all the comforts of home. From a fully stocked kitchen (well we bring our own food), bedding and towels, Sirius radio, fireplace and internet access. There are also two patios that are nice for eating or just grabbing some fresh air while checking on the hubbys and kids back home! This year we learned that Walnut Knob is having some financial troubles and they need to sell by the end of the year, or the bank will take it. We all have our fingers crossed that the new owners will continue to rent to scrapbook moms like us for years to come! Here are some pictures from this past trip (and...hopefully will not be our last!)
The best part of the weekend is coming down the driveway, seeing the welcome sign and knowing the whole weekend is ahead of us!
Little bridge over the creek
One side of the kitchen...gosh how we all love that fridge!
The living room area upstairs, which is nice to have if someone wants to take a break from scrappin and just hang out and talk.
