When Emily got home from school today, she had on a crown that her teacher, Miss Lisa, made for her. She was very proud of her crown and told us all about how she got to pass out the napkins and plates at snack time because it was HER birthday!
As usual, she had LOTS of presents to open from everyone. She really loved the Gabriella and Sharpay dolls that Grandma and Aunt Jane got for her (and the leopard print sweat suit from Grandma was also a big hit!) It was a fun night with our birthday girl! We love you Emily!
Wow...today was a busy day! Both kids had Halloween parties at their schools, then we headed to grandma's. As usual, she greeted the kids dressed in one of her crazy costumes. This year she was kinda scary, which really didn't go over too well with Emily (she cried until grandma took her mask off!). Then we were off to trick-or-treat around our neighborhood and then went to Mill Creek subdivision to trick-or-treat with the McKeowns. The Skeleton and Tinkerbell really scored big-time with all the LOOT tonight! We lost track of how much they actually ate and how much made it home. Now they are finally asleep... so Dad and Mom are going to check out what's in their bowls!! Happy Halloween 2007!
Another annual pumpkin carving is done and over. As usual, it was mostly dad doing the carving and mom getting her hands inside to pull out all the "cheese" as Emily kept calling it. As you can see, dad had a hard time following the outline of the face that the kids drew. It looks much better (and scarier!) in the DARK!!!!
Our annual trek to the Apple Barn to pick our pumpkins didn't go so well...they were ALL gone! They only had small ones left, so we headed over to Farmer's Market by Hobby Lobby. We all pretty much agreed on the same one (which was a nice change this year, instead of each liking 4 different ones!) Tonight, we CARVE!
Saturday morning was Adam's last soccer game. They had a really great season. We're glad it's over though, because those early morning games have been pretty cold the last couple of weeks! After soccer, Emily had a birthday party to go to at Chuck E. Cheese for her good friend, Sydney. Then she and I went to the circus with our neighbors while Adam and Rob went to the Jr. Blues game. We all got home around 9:30 and went straight to bed! Here's hoping today is a little quieter.....
Two weekends ago, Adam spent the weekend in Wheaton with Ethan, and Kelsey came to Springfield. I already posted pictures from the girls weekend, but just got the pictures tonight of the boys. Aaron & Colleen took them to the United Center for a Bulls scrimmage game and they got Kirk Hinrich's autograph. Each of the boys also got to shoot a free-throw, which was totally cool. To see Adam standing on the court where Rob and I watched SO many Bulls games through-out the '90's, and on the same spot where Michael Jordan stood so many times, was pretty amazing. I know they had a blast...because Adam didn't want to come home. Next time, we get the boys and the girls go north. Although I don't know what we'll do in Springfield that will top that weekend!!
