HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2009

The kids couldn't make up their minds what they wanted to be this year (or in Adam's case, if he even wanted to dress up!) But at 11:45 today we found Emily's costume and at 3:00 got Adam's. We were cutting it a little close as trick or treating started at 4:30!

The Little Mermaid and Dr. Powers!!!
We took the kids to Mill Creek subdivison so Adam could go around with his two good friends, Blake (the gangster) and Jordan (the Whoopie cusion). I was glad Adam had his cell phone so we could find him when we were ready to go because they got pretty far ahead of us!
We then found Emily's good friends, Megan and Morgan, and got to hit a few houses with them!
Later we ended up in Oak Park subdivision with the McKeown's and the Stehn's.
Not sure who is scarier...Mike or Rob!

MILEY CYRUS CONCERT

Wednesday night my friend Janet and I took our girls to see Miley Cyrus at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis (where the Blues play hockey!) Words cannot describe how load a bazillion screaming girls can be!!! But it was a fun night and the girls had a great time seeing their "idol"!

Janet, Melanie and Maddie...waiting for the show to start!

Jen and Emily

This was Emily's first "real" concert! She had a ball!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!

Well, Grandma's officially a senior citizen today! Looking forward to her party at Uncle Jon's tonight!

5k BREAST CANCER WALK

This morning our Brownie Troop walked in the 5k Breast Cancer walk at White Oaks mall. It was fun to be a part of such a great event!

Ready, set, GO!

The 1 mile mark!

SOCCER!

Last "regulation" soccer game of the season and I finally took some pictures! We've had a pretty good season, winning all but 2 I think. Next weekend is end of year tournament, single elimination. Last year we came in 2nd place, so we're going for GOLD this year!

CUB SCOUTS FALL CAMP OUT

Oct 10-11 was the Fall Camp out for the Cub Scouts at Camp Illinek (out by Lake Springfield). Fortunately, Rob was able to go this year as I have decided I will not be sleeping in a tent or on the ground ever again! It was very cold that night, but they had a fun time!

WALNUT KNOB WEEKEND

September 18-20 weekend was our girls bi-annual scrapbook weekend at Walnut Knob Lodge in Pittsfield, IL. People ask us why we keep going back there each time, and truthfully, we tell them it's our "home away from home!" It's actually a hunting lodge that they rent out to other groups, but it has all the comforts of home. From a fully stocked kitchen (well we bring our own food), bedding and towels, Sirius radio, fireplace and internet access. There are also two patios that are nice for eating or just grabbing some fresh air while checking on the hubbys and kids back home! This year we learned that Walnut Knob is having some financial troubles and they need to sell by the end of the year, or the bank will take it. We all have our fingers crossed that the new owners will continue to rent to scrapbook moms like us for years to come! Here are some pictures from this past trip (and...hopefully will not be our last!)

The best part of the weekend is coming down the driveway, seeing the welcome sign and knowing the whole weekend is ahead of us!

Little bridge over the creek

One side of the kitchen...gosh how we all love that fridge!
The living room area upstairs, which is nice to have if someone wants to take a break from scrappin and just hang out and talk.
