DAISY MEETING

Our last Daisy Girl Scout meeting the girls had fun making bead-it projects, then each one got up and explained what they made and why they chose to make it like they did.

Hard at work!
Mrs. Thompson ironed all the finished projects.

KIDS IN THE KITCHEN

Saturday afternoon Emily and I went to the "Kids in the Kitchen" event sponsored by the Springfield Junior League and held at Lincolnland Community College. It was all about healthy eating/choices. The kids visited several stations and made their own bag of trail mix, decorated potholders, played Simon Says and fixed healthy wraps they could eat, just to name a few. The parents attended a seminar on nutrition and also watched the chef fix a healthy variation of macaroni and cheese (with cantaloupe!) It was not too bad, but not sure it's something my kids would go for! Then we went out for dinner with the Stehn's and the McKeown's, and then back to the McKeown's for Reeses Pieces milk shakes. Nutrition seminar???? What nutrituion seminar!!

EASTER 2009

Easter sunday morning the kids were up at 7:00 on the nose and ready to start the Easter egg hunt! Then it was off to 9:30 church service and back home to start fixing dinner. We didn't get home til about 8:00 last night, but it was nice spending so much time with our family. As usual, the Easter Bunny left a basket full of goodies for each of the kids!

ETHAN'S 9TH BIRTHDAY

Saturday afternoon was Ethan's birthday party. However, that morning Adam and Ethan were playing on some playground equipment while Kelsey was at softball practice and Ethan cracked part of his front tooth off. Luckily their dentist had him come right in and was able to do a reconstruction job that looks as good as new. He got to his party just in time to have cake, open presents and the movie!
The movie was pretty cool in 3-D!

SPRING BREAK 2009

Last week the kids were on Spring Break, so they spent four days with Papa and DD in St. Louis. They went to the Sky Zone, the bird sanctuary and on a nature hike. They also had fun playing with Maggie and Molly, who I think were happy to see the kids too! It was a quiet week at our house, but we were glad when they came home!

INDOOR SOCCER CHAMPS!!!

Adam's indoor soccer team (which is also mostly the same kids on his outdoor Fall team) won their whole division this winter! He was pretty excited to receive his medal and we were very proud of him for practicing hard and doing such a great job!

SHAKE YOUR GROOVE THANG!

Last Saturday was the Daisy field trip to MacArthur High School in Decatur for a lesson in hip hop dancing. There were several troops there from all over central Illinois and I think our girls had a really good time learning the dance and clowning around with each other.

Getting ready to stretch and warm up. Sydney and Emily...doing what they do best...POSING!
The girls all got to decorate a t-shirt during one of the breaks in the afternoon. There were some very colorful designs!Troop #6586 and our instructor (also named Emily!)
At the end of the afternoon all the troops performed the dance. Enjoy :)
