MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATION

Yesterday we had our annual Saturday Mother's Day celebration and Grandma and Jane's house. Jane cooked another wonderful meal (which tasted especially good to me having been on weight watchers for 3 weeks!) The kids always have a great time playing together and feel asleep as soon as we got home!

Emily and Jaiana each got to have one of the butterflies off the cake. Luckily they each chose a different color!

HAPPY 15TH ANNIVERSARY C and A

WOW - 15 years! I think the thing I remember the most from that day is Colleen and I accidently getting car grease on the front of our dresses and us standing outside in front of the church trying to dry them out 10 minutes before we had to walk down the aisle! Happy anniversary guys - we love you!

OPENING DAY

Last night was the first "official" game of the 2008 baseball season. I think it's safe to say our Padres creamed the Cubs! Adam played outfield and 2nd and 3rd base. He struck out his first at bat, then walked, then hit a doozy of a triple. That ball went all the way to the left field fence and he could have made it home, but the coach held him at 3rd. In this league, the kids can steal bases (and of course, they just love to slide!). It was a great game to start the season.

PLAYING CATCH

Grandma and Aunt Jane came over for dinner tonight and the kids conned them into playing a little after-dinner catch.

Emily was just as surprised as we were when she caught this one!

CARS AND BIKES AND SCOOTERS, OH MY

What a gorgeous day it was today! The kids took full advantage of the warm air and sunshine, especially Emily, who seemed to be in constant motion all day!

POWERS FOR 2!

Emily scored TWO goals in her soccer game Friday night!! We really have a good little team and a very good (and patient) coach! All she talks about is playing soccer, so I definitely think she's getting more out of playing this year. She is very quick, and it's fun to watch them all in a little "bee hive" and then see her break out of the pack. Rob and I both said she reminds of her brother at that age. We must have some good socceer genes somewhere in our family! We know it's not from us!

SAN DIEGO PADRES

Adam's baseball team has moved up to the "minor leagues" this season into kid pitch. Since this is a new division for us, we had to change team names. We will miss our "Giants", but look forward to the new season with the Padres. (1/2 the team wanted Cubs, the other 1/2 the Cards, so the coach chose a neutral west coast team!) They had a practice game last night and the official first game is next Monday night. So May will be pretty busy with 2 baseball games a week, 1 soccer game each week, and 2 nights of practices! They better appreciate all this when they are older!!
