BACK TO SCHOOL - 8TH AND 4TH GRADE!

It's the most wonderful time of the year - NOT!  Back to school on August 20 for the kids.  Emily in 4th grade at Dubois and Adam in 8th grade at Lincoln Magnet.  I have a feeling this year will be the fastest yet!

ILLINOIS STATE FAIR - AUGUST 2012

The last day of the fair was the first opportunity we had to get out there.  The summer has just been crazy busy, but we promised Emily we would go so she could ride some rides.  Adam chose to stay home (plus he had already gone with friends the weekend before).  When we got there we ran into the McKeown's and Stehn's, so we had a good time walking around with them.  Emily got to shoot a bow and arrow, go on a lot of rides and had her favorite funnel cake before heading out.  Oh, and of course, what would a trip to the fair be without a ride down the Giant Slide!

COLORADO VACATION!

This summer we went to Keystone, Colorado and stayed in Don and Michelle's condo.  Adam had been there twice before with Papa and DD, and was anxious for us to see the mountains.  It was a beautiful place!!  We hiked, rode bikes and went on a two hour horse ride.  Of course Emily got to do a little shopping before we left for home!  Rob had a bike accident toward the end of the trip, but luckily didn't break any bones.  After we left Keystone, we stopped for the night at Don and Michelle's house in Denver.  What amazing views they had from their rooftop patio!  Overall it was a great family vacation!

MICHIGAN - JULY 2012

What a fun weekend in Muskegon with our Michigan family!!  We had a blast at "Craig's Crusiers" riding go-karts and playing mini golf, then a great time at the lake at Craig's house.  Mom and Don were up from Florida, and unfortunately Don was in the hospital while we were there waiting on hernia surgery.  We were also missing Aaron who had to work that weekend.  Hopefully next time, we can all be together, but it was nice to see the cousins and let our kids get to know them!
