A Beautiful Fall Day

Today was a gorgeous day in Springfield! Emily helped me sweep some leaves off the driveway and out of the garage (we haven't tackled the yard yet!) and we all did some major house-cleaning. Some friends of Grandma's grew some pumpkins in their garden, so they gave them to us to enjoy. Since it's too early to carve them for Halloween, we let the kids draw on them. Adam tried to draw a scary face, and Emily just scribbled. Oh well...they look cute on the porch and are a reminder that Fall is here indeed!

Rob and the kids will be at the game in St. Louis Friday night with my dad. I will be at my semi-annual scrapbooking retreat. Adam's excited...Emily, not so much!

So long summer.....

Well, it's official...summer is over.
The Powers pool is closed for winter.
Always a sad day around here.

This is the only pool open for business now until June...
Emily's new Polly Pocket swimming pool!

Dancing Princess

Emily started dance lessons this week...ballet and tap.
Of course, at this point, it's all about the outfit, don't you think??

Dress Up Daddy

I think this pictures not only shows what a good dad Rob is, but that pink might actually be his color!

Labor Day Get-Away

Early Sunday morning we drove down to my dad's lake house in Marissa, IL for a quick holiday get-away. Since Dad and Dianne were in Texas for the weekend, we had the place all to ourselves. We played a lot of miniture golf, and Emily spent a lot of time on the swings. We picked up some groceries at the Wal-Mart super center and made a huge sub sandwich for lunch and cooked burgers for dinner. The kids brought their bikes which was great until Emily's tire popped and the chain fell off. Daddy will have to get that fixed! It was nice to just hang out, let the kids play and relax. Now, we're home and the weekend will be over too soon!!
